Incoming “Erasmus+” students started their semester with “Orientation Week”

29-09-2025

On September 22–25, the “Orientation Week” took place for “Erasmus+” exchange students who came to study at Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution.

On the first day of the week, the students had a meeting with International Relations Coordinators to learn about "Erasmus+" rules and the general information about Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution. Lithuanian students, acting as "Erasmus+" mentors, organized ice-breaking games to help the incoming students and mentors get to know each other better. Afterward, the students played an orientation game in Šiauliai city centre. The goal of the game was to get to know the city better and take creative photos in specific places marked on the map. The most original team was awarded with prizes!

On the second day of the “Orientation Week”, the incoming students attended two introductory lectures delivered by Dr. Rasa Pocevičienė, Head of the Studies and Science Coordination Office and Laima Milkintaitė, Lecturer of the Department of Physical, Aesthetic and Social Well-being at our institution.

On the third day of activities, the students took part in an ex-libris (bookplate) workshop led by Lolita Kivickienė, an educator from the Šiauliai County Povilas Višinskis Public Library.

On the final day of the week, the incoming students visited the Šiauliai City Police Department. Šiauliai Police Community Officer introduced students to Lithuanian laws, explained the rules of conduct in the city, and gave them a tour of the Police Department.

For the autumn semester of 2025–2026 academic year, we welcomed 39 students and 1 intern from Spain, Latvia, Turkiye, France, Italy, Ukraine and Kosovo universities. Incoming students were accepted to Information System Technology, Software Engineering, Corporate Communication and Marketing, Office Management, International Business, Accounting and Social Work study programmes. Meanwhile, the intern is doing his internship at the International Relations Office.

We wish our "Erasmus+" students a successful semester!
