International "Battle of the Solar Robots 2025" Competition Hosted at Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija

24-04-2025

Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija proudly hosted the 11th international robotics competition "Battle of Solar Robots 2025" on March 29, welcoming participants from Latvia, Poland, Romania, Turkey, and across Lithuania.

Record Participation and Competition

The event brought together nearly 200 robotics enthusiasts who participated in 15 different competition categories. With more than 800 total events—including over 400 robot battles and an equal number of performance trials—this year's competition was the largest to date.

New Competition Categories

This year marked the debut of the Antweight 454g robot battle category, complementing the existing Antweight 200g competition. Both categories challenge competitors to eliminate opponents through damage or immobilization. The Antweight arenas hosted 50 exciting battles featuring powerful impacts, sparks, mechanical failures, and innovative engineering solutions that will undoubtedly inspire future designs as participants rebuild and improve their robots.

International Collaboration

The competition serves as an important platform for international collaboration and knowledge exchange in robotics and engineering. Participants from five countries demonstrated remarkable technical skills and creative approaches to robotics challenges.

Awards and Recognition

Winners received commemorative cups, diplomas, and special prizes provided by our generous sponsors. Following the main competition, participants engaged in additional Mini Sumo Deathmatch battles, with special recognition for the victors.

Community Impact

"We are confident that this event plays a significant role in inspiring future engineers and programmers in Lithuania," noted the organizers. "The competition environment and the emotions experienced create memorable impressions that can influence career paths and academic interests."

The event was free and open to the public, offering spectators the opportunity to witness cutting-edge robotics technology in action on newly designed tracks and arenas.
