Orientation week for incoming students to SVAKO
On September 21–23, the “Orientation Week” took place for “Erasmus+” exchange students who came to study at Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution.
On the first day, the students met with Guoda Augulienė, the coordinator of the International Relations Office, and learned about the "Erasmus+" rules and the general information about Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution. Icebreaker games were organized to help the incoming students get to know one another better.
On the same day, the “Erasmus+” students were randomly divided into teams and began an orientation game around Šiauliai. The aim of the game was to take creative photos at the locations marked on the maps while also visiting and getting to know the city better.
On the second day, the “Erasmus+” students visited the Baltic Culture Education Centre “Balt’s Road”. After a short tour, the students took part in “A Gift from Amber” workshop.
On the final day, the incoming students attended a lecture on intercultural communication delivered by Professor Rasa Pocevičienė from the Department of Management and Communication. The students also met with a community police officer from Šiauliai, who introduced them to the Lithuanian laws relevant to students and explained the rules of public behaviour in the city.
For the autumn semester of 2026–2027 academic year, we welcomed 55 “Erasmus+“ students and we are still waiting for 4 students to come for their internship. Students from Italy, Spain, France, Turkiye, Ukraine and Vietnam came to Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution. Students were accepted to Information System Technology, Automotive Electronics, Production Engineering, Information management, International Business, Accounting, Business Analytics, Physiotherapy and General Practice Nursing study programmes. We look forward to welcoming students from universities in Turkiye and Italy to develop their professional skills through internships.
