Welcome students from Morocco!
A group of students from Morocco has started the spring semester at Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution. They have chosen to study International Business and Information Systems Technology programmes.
Representatives of Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution introduced the city of Šiauliai and the higher education institution to the students.
During the first days at the institution, the role of the curator is particularly important. Vaida Steponavičienė, lecturer at the Department of Informatics and Electrical Engineering became the coordinator of students from Morocco, and members of the Student Representative Council also helped integrating students into our culture and Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution.
Students from Morocco played an orientation game around the institution and Šiauliai. Young people had the opportunity to visit and get to know various objects in Šiauliai city.
During the introductory week, the Moroccans were introduced with the most important information about the studies and the study process. They became familiar with the Faculty of Business and Technology where they will study, as well as the staff who will accompany them throughout their studies. They were also given a tour of the student spaces and key laboratories.
Cultural differences were discussed during the meetings with the employees of Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution,and officers from the Šiauliai Police Community were welcomed to the institution. The aim was to ensure that students arriving from Morocco feel informed and safe in Lithuania.
The students are also happy to learn Lithuanian and already know a few basic phrases and words useful in everyday life.
Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija is looking forward to welcoming more students from Morocco.
