Youth Create Solutions for the Future

11-11-2025

In October–November, Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution implemented NEOLAiA Focus Academy Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Global Competencies and Multicultural Identity.”

The BIP brought together 19 students from the Czechia, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, France, Romania, Sweden and Germany, along with 8 students from Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution.

The online part of the programme took place from October 14 to 27, while the on-site activities were held at our institution from November 3 to 7.

Lectures and workshops were delivered by experienced lecturers and practitioners, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rasa Pocevičienė, Dr. Kristina Kulikauskienė, and Laima Milkintaitė from Šiaulių valstybinė kolegija / Higher Education Institution; Otilia-Maria Bordeianu and Ancuta Aghenitei from Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava (Romania); and Alina Cogiel from the University of Ostrava (Czechia).

During the week in Šiauliai, students worked in teams to analyse business cases provided by local companies – UAB “Artilux”, UAB “Vilmers” and UAB “Ltintus”. On the final day of the activities, students presented their proposed solutions to the representatives of the companies. The solutions were creative and practically applicable. We are delighted by the insights and energy of these young professionals – such collaborations inspire both students and business representatives.

Throughout the BIP week, students and lecturers were invited to participate in various cultural activities: they tasted traditional Lithuanian dishes, visited the Hill of Crosses and baked bread at Žaliūkiai Miller’s Homestead. The week concluded with pizza and the awarding of certificates confirming students’ participation in the programme.
